Founded by Peter McCabe, a diesel technician whose passion for working on heavy equipment started back in high school, K&M Truck Repair continues to operate with the same dedication and grit that fueled it from day one.

Peter’s journey from trade classes to earning his diesel certification at Ohio University in 1982 shaped the foundation of the shop. After years spent in the field as a mechanic and driver, he opened K&M Truck Repair to bring dealer-level service and a personal touch to diesel truck and medium-duty fleet owners across Long Island.

With eight bays across two buildings—four in the HD shop and four in the LD/MD building—K&M runs a tight, efficient operation. The team includes five full-time techs, including Peter himself, who now works as shop foreman. His wife, Angel, joined the business in 2002 and now helps manage daily operations, playing a major role in the shop’s continued growth and success.

It’s the people. Most of the techs have keys to the building—they’re trusted, respected, and part of the family. Some have been with the shop for nearly two decades. Customers are treated the same way. Peter is hands-on and old-school and refuses to give up until a problem is solved.
